Photo Release

The short version. We take photos and short videos at Saturday sessions and post some of them on this website and on our social accounts so people can see what open play looks like. If you’d rather not be in them, just tell us — no explanation needed, and you can still play.

In this document, “the League” means Quincy Pickleball League (also known as Quincy Pickle) and its organizers and volunteers. “Images” means photographs, video, audio, and any other recording or likeness of me captured at a League activity. “I” and “me” mean the adult participant signing this release. Participation in League activities is limited to adults 18 years of age or older.

1. Grant of permission

I grant the League the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive right and permission to photograph, film, and record me at its open play sessions, games, and events, and to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, and distribute the resulting Images, in whole or in part, alone or with other material, in any media now known or later developed.

2. How the Images may be used

The Images may be used to promote and document the League, including on:

• This website and any future League website or newsletter.
• Social media accounts operated by the League, and posts made by the League on community pages and groups.
• Flyers, signage, slideshows, and other promotional or informational materials about the League.

I understand the Images may be cropped, resized, color-corrected, or otherwise edited, and may appear alongside a caption, the name of the venue, or the date of the session. The League will not sell the Images or license them to third parties for advertising unrelated to the League.

3. Names

The League will not publish my full name, phone number, email address, or home address alongside an Image without asking me first. A first name may be used in a caption.

4. No compensation

I acknowledge that I will receive no payment or other compensation, now or in the future, for the capture or use of the Images, and that I have no ownership interest in them. All Images and any copyright in them are the sole property of the League or the photographer.

5. Release of claims

I release and hold harmless the League, its organizers, volunteers, and anyone acting with its permission from any claim arising out of the capture or use of the Images, including claims for invasion of privacy, right of publicity, defamation, or copyright infringement. I waive any right to inspect or approve the Images or any finished material that incorporates them.

6. Opting out

Participation in League activities does not require agreeing to this release. If you decline, tell an organizer and we’ll do our best to keep you out of photos and to avoid posting Images in which you are identifiable. Because sessions are held at a public park, we can’t guarantee you will never appear in the background of a photo, and we can’t control photos taken by other players or members of the public.

You can also ask us to take down a specific Image at any time. Text us at the number in the footer and we’ll remove it from our website and our own social accounts as soon as we reasonably can. Copies already downloaded, shared, or cached elsewhere may be outside our control, and Images may remain in printed materials already produced.

7. Governing law and severability

This release is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

8. Acknowledgment

I have read this Photo, Video, and Likeness Release and understand its contents. I am signing it freely and voluntarily, and I am at least 18 years of age and legally competent to sign it. I agree that submitting the League’s sign-up form, or checking the box that references this page, constitutes my electronic signature and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
